I've been painting seriously since 2002. I joined the Houston Civic Arts Association soon after, never realizing that I would find myself in my fifth year as president. It's been rewarding to be a part of the rebirth of HCAA. We not only host exhibits and classes, but we've brought in such notable workshop teachers as Quang Ho, Carolyn Anderson, Scott Burdick and Susan Lyon, Robert Moore (my first workshop!), Qiang Huang, Chuck Rawle, Ann Templeton, CW Mundy, Lesley Rich, Guido Frick and Jeff Legg. I take as many workshops as I can to continue and grow as an artist. I consider them to be my masters degree in fine art.
